Description

Registered Nurse (RN) - Labor & Delivery (L&D) (Days)

Location: West Des Moines, Iowa
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Work 36-40 hours per week; overtime billable after 40 hours
Patient care includes c-sections, vaginal deliveries, and triage
Patient ratios approximately 1:3-4 couplets
Experience with drips such as magnesium, insulin, and pitocin required
Hospital-provided scrubs
Float across multiple campuses within the region
EMR system: EPIC
Orientation required (dates provided upon hiring)

Required Experience

Minimum 24 months of recent Medical Surgical or Medical Surgical Telemetry experience
Experience in Post Partum and other baby care
Experience in Labor & Delivery, including c-section, vaginal delivery, and triage
Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the last 12 months (no first-time travelers)

Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact/multistate license at time of submission
Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
AWHONN (Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses) certification
Valid driver’s license
Skills checklist specific to Medical Surgical or Med Surg Telemetry discipline
Professional references or performance evaluations within the last 24 months preferred

Additional Information

Must be able to float across multiple campuses within the region
No first-time travelers; prior travel experience required
Patient care includes labor, delivery, postpartum, and triage nursing
Call back and on-call pay available (details not included here)

This position is ideal for experienced Labor & Delivery RNs with recent Med Surg experience and prior travel assignments who are comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-campus environment.
