Position Overview

• Department: Emergency Room
• The position primarily involves working in the Emergency Room, which is connected to the Nurses Station for the Med/Surge floor.
• The facility has one trauma bay and three exam rooms.
• Nurses are expected to work as a team to treat both ER patients and inpatients.
• An RN is staffed in the ER for each shift, but assistance may be required on the Med/Surge floor.

Required Certifications

• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support
• BLS - Basic Life Support
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support
• NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
• TNCC - Trauma Nursing Core Course
• HIPAA Safety Manual Acknowledgement
• State License Verification
• NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
• Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam
• Competency Exam

Health Requirements

• Physical Exam: Initial and updated annually.
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap: Required for all travelers.
• Negative TB or Chest X-Ray: Required within 1 year of start and updated annually.
• Vaccinations:

  • Rubeola (Measles)
  • Mumps
  • Rubella
  • Hepatitis B
  • Varicella
  • Drug Testing: 10 panel within a year of start and updated annually.
  • Flu Vaccine: Preferred but not required during flu season.
  • COVID-19 Vaccination: Must be fully vaccinated or have an approved exemption.

Background Check

• 7-year criminal check required within a year of start and updated annually.

Dress Code

• Orientation: Scrubs of any color.
• Post-Orientation: Solid color scrubs preferred.
