Registered Nurse - Med Surg (Travel)
Location: Smyrna, Tennessee
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Unit Overview
- Med-Surg unit with 54 beds, including an 11-bed dedicated ortho/spine unit
- Patient ratios:
- RN: 1:5-6
- Patient Care Technicians (PCTs): 1:12-15
- Staffing includes RN/LPN teams with unit secretaries on weekdays until 8 pm
- Equipment used: Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, continuous pulse oximetry, specialty beds, transfer equipment, wound vacs, chest tubes, NG and feeding tubes
- Documentation system: Meditech
- Scheduling: At least one weekend shift within a 4-week period; flexible scheduling options available
- Floating: Within unit discretion
- Patient population includes medical-surgical, orthopedic/spine, trauma, and psych medical hold patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Tennessee
- Minimum 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience within the last year
- BLS certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
