Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Med/Surg Telemetry

Job Summary

Seeking a Registered Nurse for Med/Surg Telemetry unit caring for surgery patients including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics/spine. Night shift position with target nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6.

Shift Details

• Shift: Nights, 18:45 - 07:15
• Hours: 36 or 48 hours offered
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Float Requirement: Occasionally
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling with nurse manager input
• Orientation: 36 hours

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• IV start and telemetry skills required
• Travel experience: First-time travelers accepted (no prior travel experience required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Must pass EKG competency testing prior to start

Patient Population

• Surgical patients including colorectal, general surgery, hepatobiliary, orthopedics/spine

Unit Systems

• Pyxis medication system
• SBAR communication framework
• EPIC electronic health record

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum 2 years of Med Surg / Telemetry nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

• Scrubs: Navy blue or white (not provided)
• Photo for badge required (passport style, white background, business attire)
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
• References: 2 professional references within 3 years (not required for non-clinical)
• Must complete medication safety and other mandatory education modules prior to or shortly after start
• Internal policies prohibit return to office (RTO) after booking and restrict call-offs

• Candidates should be comfortable working with surgical patient populations and telemetry monitoring.
• This is a travel contract position with a 13-week duration.
