Job Opportunity: MRI Tech
Location: Kernersville, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (07:30 AM - 08:00 PM), Saturday through Monday
- Patient ratio: 1:2 (weekends 1:1)
- No call or float requirements
- Unit serves outpatients, inpatients, and emergency department patients
- Unit systems include Pyxis and Visage PACS
- Scrubs color: Royal Blue
- No Return to Office (RTO) after booking allowed onsite; excessive call-offs or RTO may lead to cancellation
Required Skills and Experience
- Valid MRI Technologist license in North Carolina
- Minimum 1 year of MRI Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience in ER/Trauma imaging
- Proficient in imaging of female pelvis and male pelvis
- Experience with magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP)
- Skilled in brain imaging
- Experience with face and soft tissue neck imaging
- Proficient in head magnetic resonance angiogram (MRA) and magnetic resonance venography (MRV) including neck MRV
- Experience with spinal trauma imaging
- Familiarity with PACS and Siemens equipment
Certifications Required
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ARRT MR (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Magnetic Resonance)
Licensure
- Must hold a valid license appropriate for MRI Technologist in North Carolina
Background and Compliance Requirements
- Background checks including local, federal, national criminal databases, sex offender search, and education verification
- Drug screening within 30 days of start (10-panel, negative result required)
- Physical exam within 1 year of start (or within 30 days if past positive TB)
- Fit mask testing (N95 or PAPR training) required
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella (titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (titer, series, or facility-specific declination)
- Seasonal flu vaccine or approved exemption during flu season
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray per protocol
- Required to complete facility-specific orientation and compliance training modules prior to start
- References: 2 professional references within 3 years (for travel and acute care allied/per diem)
Additional Notes
- Candidates must submit a passport-style photo for badge creation prior to start
- Various facility-specific documents and acknowledgments required before starting assignment
- Radiation badge required for this role; process initiated upon assignment
- Medication safety training and other competency exams may be required as applicable
This position offers a 13-week travel contract opportunity for MRI Technologists with at least 1 year of experience, including those new to travel assignments. The role involves working in a community hospital setting with a focus on MRI imaging across multiple body systems and requires adherence to strict compliance and credentialing standards.
