Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Shift Options:
- 3 shifts of 12 hours (Day)
- 4 shifts of 10 hours (Day)
- Shift Hours: 07:00 - 19:30 or 07:00 - 17:30 with 2 days of late case coverage per week
- On Call/Weekend Requirement: None
- Floating Requirement: None
- Average Daily Caseload: 18 cases
Required Experience & Skills
- Minimum 1 year of Electrophysiology Technician experience within the last year
- Experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings
- EKG Technician experience
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- CCI certification
Special Procedures / Unit Details
- Cardiac Electrophysiology studies
- Head-Up-Tilt test
- Cardioversion
- Internal Loop Recorder placement
- Atrial flutter/fibrillation ablations
- Supraventricular and ventricular tachycardia ablations
- Device implants (e.g., Pacemaker, Defibrillator, Watchman, Aveir)
- Device explants and lead extractions
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- CCI RCES or RCIS certification
Preferred Certifications:
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists)
- Fluoroscopy permit
Required Licenses
- Must hold a valid license appropriate for the Electrophysiology Tech discipline in the state of District of Columbia
Additional Requirements
- Flu vaccine required during flu season (September through March)
- Criminal background check within 90 days of start, including multi-state and federal searches
- Drug screen within 90 days of start (excluding marijuana)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, with annual TB questionnaire
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations and free from communicable disease
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually (may be completed onsite)
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least two years of experience within the last three years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps
Prior Travel Experience
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers with EP Lab experience are accepted
Facility & Work Environment
- Short Term Acute Care, Teaching Hospital
- Top 50 heart and vascular centers nationally
- Charting systems: Cerner, GE Cardiolab
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- Scrubs provided
