Physical Therapist - Contract Opportunity

Location: Brockton, Massachusetts
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Summary

Provide physical therapy services to residents to maximize their functional abilities and independence in activities of daily living. Collaborate with residents, caregivers, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to develop, implement, and modify therapeutic plans of care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform evaluative and therapeutic procedures under physician or healthcare provider orders.
• Evaluate residents and establish therapeutic plans including goals, frequency, duration, and modalities.
• Incorporate resident and caregiver input into therapy goals.
• Consult with physicians and healthcare team regarding care plans and discharge needs.
• Monitor and progress treatment programs toward functional goals; modify plans as needed.
• Document all interactions and treatments clearly and accessibly in the medical record.
• Recommend and instruct on appropriate assistive devices.
• Provide education to residents and caregivers; document teaching outcomes.
• Collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants and other therapy professionals.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other reimbursement regulations.
• Provide in-service education and maintain current clinical skills.
• Assist in developing new rehabilitation programs and services.
• Supervise assistant-level staff as appropriate, ensuring adherence to standards.
• Mentor new staff during orientation.
• Maintain cleanliness and infection control in clinical areas.
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and complete compliance courses on time.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Massachusetts
• Bachelor's degree is required
• Minimum of 3 years of Physical Therapist experience, including experience within the last year

Physical Demands

• Ability to perform tasks involving sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, twisting, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; lifting over 50 pounds requires assistance.
• Frequent lifting/carrying up to 20 pounds.
