Job Opportunity: Mammogram Technologist
Location: Craig, Colorado
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
The Mammogram Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality mammography imaging procedures for diagnostic purposes. This role includes patient education, ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining quality assurance, and supporting workflow efficiency within the women's health radiology section.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate mammography equipment following department protocols and FDA guidelines.
- Perform exams with adherence to radiation safety standards (ALARA).
- Verify exam orders and patient identity; provide patient education and obtain informed consent.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health records (EHR).
- Conduct daily quality assurance and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate service maintenance as needed.
- Assist with clerical duties, patient transportation, and cross-train other imaging staff.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with all regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate flexibility by assisting in other imaging modalities and adjusting schedules as required.
- Maintain supply inventory and order necessary materials.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and organizational policies.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Mammography Technologist license in Colorado.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Mammography Technologist, including experience within the last year.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT (R)) and Mammography Technologist (ARRT (M)) certifications.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Experience as a Radiology Technologist, including CT and MRI modalities.
Preferred Experience
- Minimum of 2 years experience as a Radiologic Technologist, including CT and MRI modalities.
- Cross-training in additional imaging modalities such as CT, MRI, and DEXA.
- Experience working with electronic records systems including PACS and RIS/HIS.
Additional Information
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work overtime, holidays, and take call shifts as needed.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe environment and adhering to infection control procedures.
