Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Location: Columbus, Ohio

Job Details

• Shift: Weekends required, 3 shifts per weekend, 12 hours each (Night Shift)
• Floating: May be required to float between campuses
• Patient Ratio: Not applicable
• Equipment: GE Ventilators

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
• High School Diploma and College Diploma or official transcripts from a Respiratory Therapy program

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
• BLS (Basic Life Support) - AHA only (Instructor/Provider and RQI acceptable)
• Other certifications may be unit-specific; verify as needed

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation confirmation required for Respiratory Therapy program
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Immunizations and health documents required:

  • Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
  • TB questionnaire
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) - 2 vaccines or positive titer with boosters if needed
  • Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
  • Varicella - 2 vaccines or positive titer (medical exemption requires documentation)
  • Seasonal flu vaccine or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership role
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
• Annual acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies
• Facility-specific orientation and competency exams may be required, including medication and unit-specific competency exams

Notes

• Candidates must complete fingerprinting using Ohio BCI & FBI codes prior to start; fingerprinting results must be clear or adjudicated if hits occur
• Floating between campuses may be required, so flexibility is important
• Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory
• Official transcripts or third-party verification required; unofficial transcripts are not accepted
