Job Opportunity: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Location: Columbia, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

Specialty: Registered Nurse (MedSurg / Orthopedics)
Experience Required: Minimum 1 year recent experience in MedSurg and strong Orthopedics experience within a large healthcare facility.
Charge Nurse Experience: Required.
EMR Experience: Must have at least 1 year of experience with Epic EMR.
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each.
Floating: Required to float to other units or campuses as needed, limited to areas where qualified and competent.
Start Date: Approximately 3 weeks after acceptance.

Regional teaching medical center with Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designations.
641 licensed beds.
Advanced specialty programs including cardiac care, stroke, and vascular services.
Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) unit focused on mobility, recovery, and reducing length of stay for patients 65+.

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in South Carolina
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 1 year of recent MedSurg experience within a large healthcare facility
Strong Orthopedics experience
Experience in charge nurse roles; charge experience required
At least 1 year of recent experience in the assigned unit
Experience with Epic electronic medical record (EMR) system
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

Additional Information

Candidates must carry a valid driver’s license and government-issued ID while on duty.
Badge photo required prior to start.
Floating policy must be signed and renewed annually.
Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position.
