Registered Nurse - Hospice (Travel/Contract)

Location: Marmora, New Jersey
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Provide and coordinate home nursing care according to physician orders and agency policies.
• Directly supervise and evaluate Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses.
• Conduct home visits with an average caseload of 5-8 patients per day.
• Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, etc.
• Must have reliable transportation, a current driver’s license, and agency-required liability insurance.
• Willingness to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic; typical weekly travel around 200 miles.
• Work schedule generally Monday-Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM; some positions may have alternate shift schedules (e.g., 4x10s Friday-Monday).
• No guaranteed hours; flexibility may be required if patient census is low.
• Use of electronic medical records systems HomeCare HomeBase (HCHB) and Oasis is required.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New Jersey
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Minimum 1 year of recent hospice experience within the last year
• Minimum 1 year of recent Adult Home Health experience
• Experience working with adult patients in a Home Health or Hospice setting
• BLS certification required
• Recent specialty experience required; first-time travelers are not accepted

• Dress code: Scrubs.
• Weekend and on-call requirements vary by location and should be discussed during the interview.
• Local candidates are accepted.
• The position covers Atlantic, Cape May, and Cumberland counties in New Jersey.
• Productivity expectations: 30 points per week based on patient visits and activities.
