Description

Registered Nurse - Surgery

Location: Santa Fe, New Mexico
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Summary

The Registered Nurse coordinates and implements patient care specific to the age of the patient population served on the assigned units. Provides quality care efficiently and safely, consistent with unit standards. Demonstrates professionalism, respect, and effective communication with staff, physicians, patients, and families.


Shift & Schedule

  • Shift: Days, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Weekend Requirement: None (voluntary call available)
  • On Call Requirement: None, but may need to stay if cases run past scheduled time
  • Floating: Primary location is Physician Medical Center; must be willing to float to Main campus or other locations as needed

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid RN license in New Mexico
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of Operating Room (OR) experience within the last year

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Exposure to bloodborne pathogens and infectious diseases
  • Clean, well-lit, ventilated, smoke-free environment
  • Ability to handle emergency/crisis situations
  • Prolonged standing and walking; heavy physical effort required for patient positioning and equipment handling
  • Requires good manual dexterity, visual and hearing acuity within normal or correctable limits

Additional Information

  • Backfill replacement position
  • Must be flexible with schedule changes and emergencies

This position requires a dedicated RN with at least 1 year of experience, appropriate certifications, and the ability to work in a dynamic clinical environment with occasional floating between locations.
