Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Nurse
Location: Tuba City, Arizona
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
This position involves providing nursing care in the Emergency Room setting. The nurse will perform a variety of nursing procedures requiring professional knowledge and the ability to work independently. Care is provided to patients of all ages and their families, following physician orders, standards of care, nursing policies, and hospital guidelines.
The community served is culturally diverse, including Native American tribes (Navajo, Hopi, Southern Paiute) and other ethnic groups. The facility offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient emergency services.
Required Certifications (Must Maintain Throughout Employment)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - within 1 year of hire
- Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) - within 1 year of hire
- Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) - within 1 year of hire
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) - within 6 months of hire
- Emergency Severity Index Level 5 - within 3 months of hire
- Patient Sitter Competency Training - upon hire
License Requirements
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from any state (Arizona state license not required)
Additional Information
- Orientation occurs every 2 weeks
- COVID & Flu vaccination exemptions may be accepted after submitting a declination form
- Limited shared housing available at $600/month (no family or pets allowed)
- Housing application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in the specialty
Schedule
- Flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, and weekends
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona
- Minimum 3 years of Emergency Department (ED) nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
