Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Tech

Location: Toms River, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Schedule: 4x10 hour shifts
Call: Every 5th weekend, once or twice a week


Job Description

  • Perform 10-15 cases per day
  • Cases include CAD, PAD, STEMI, NSTEMI, cardiac arrhythmias, neuro (Stroke)
  • First-time travelers and local candidates are welcome

Required Experience and Certifications

  • Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in New Jersey
  • Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience, including experience within the last year
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ARRT or RCIS certification

Call and Shift Details

  • Call every 5th weekend
  • 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each

Required Documentation and Compliance

  • Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s license required within 48 hours of signing)
  • I9 verification
  • E-Verify clearance
  • Criminal background check within 30 days of start (including alias and multi-level searches)
  • Drug screen within 30 days of start (10-panel urine test)
  • Physical exam within 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within required timeframes
  • Influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption annually
  • Respiratory medical clearance and on-site fit testing prior to start (updated annually)
  • Color blindness exam if job tasks require color discrimination (within 12 months)
  • Various competency exams including medication/pharmacology, dysrhythmia/EKG, IV therapy/infusion, and others as applicable (must be completed within 72 hours of signing and valid within 12 months)
  • Pass/fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge required with remediation policy
  • References: 2 references within last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
  • Employment application or resume with 7 years of work history
  • Work history verification for New Jersey candidates (minimum 1 year prior to start, allowing 30-day gaps or less)

Additional Requirements

  • Annual education sign-offs and facility-specific orientation documents
  • Various certifications and CEUs may be required depending on assignment specifics (e.g., stroke CEUs, trauma CEUs)
  • Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB) certification required if assigned to ER, Pediatric ER, or Behavioral Health units
  • NIH Stroke Certification required if working in adult critical care, ED, Telemetry, or Cath Lab units
  • IV Certification required for all RNs except those in OR specialties
  • Must comply with floating policy for new assignments or site transfers

Notes

  • Candidates must bring all required documentation to orientation
  • Candidates with name changes must provide proof or initiation of name change process
  • Candidates with positive TB history require additional clearance documentation
  • Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements prior to start

This position is ideal for Cath Lab Techs with experience in cardiac and neuro cases, who hold the necessary certifications and are ready for a 13-week travel assignment with a 4x10 schedule and weekend call rotation.
