Description
Job Opportunity: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Winnsboro, South Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Position Details
- Specialty: Registered Nurse (Emergency Department)
- Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour night shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-call: No
- Float Requirement: Yes, may float within scope to nearby like units or sister facilities
- Patient Ratios: Team-based
Required Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience in specialty
- License: South Carolina RN license or Compact RN license must be active and in hand prior to start
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale)
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
- Preferred: Experience in Trauma Level I & II settings
- Additional Requirements:
- Previous charge nurse experience
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
- First-time travelers: Not accepted (prior travel experience required)
Facility & Work Environment
- Free-standing Emergency Room with 6 staffed beds
- Charting system: Epic
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
- Parking: Free
- Hurricane season (June-November) may require participation in emergency response teams
Compliance & Documentation Requirements
- Proof of work eligibility (I-9) and employment authorization (E-Verify)
- Valid Driver’s License and Social Security Card
- Annual background check including criminal, employment, and education verification
- State-specific searches including Medicaid exclusion list
- Physical exam within 90 days of start, updated annually
- Drug screening: 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
- Immunizations and health screenings:
- Tdap vaccine within 10 years
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray per facility protocol
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella immunity or vaccination proof
- Hepatitis B titer, series, or declination
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (strict deadline applies)
- Respirator medical clearance annually (RespSafety Clearance)
- COVID-19 vaccination highly preferred; declination form required if not vaccinated
Additional Requirements
- Proof of 2 clinical references, including at least one from the same unit
- Performance evaluation dated within 12 months of start
- Complete employment application/resume with detailed work history and no unaccounted gaps
- Verification of last 3 clinical employers through third-party verification
- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology competency as applicable
- Photo for badge meeting specific criteria
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and policy acknowledgments
Scheduling & Other Notes
- Block scheduling may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
- Must be willing to comply with all facility policies and health requirements
This position is ideal for experienced Emergency Room RNs with prior travel contract experience who hold the required licenses and certifications, and who are comfortable working night shifts in a fast-paced, trauma-capable emergency setting.
