Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry Weekend Nights
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Weekend night shift: 0620 - 1900 (36 hours nights)
- Unit requires telemetry skills (MS/Telemetry)
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
- Comfortable working with gender affirmation surgery patients (experience preferred but not required)
- Holiday requirement: Work 2 out of 3 winter holidays and other future holidays during contract
- No on-call requirements
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 or 1:6
- Required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- May come into contact with COVID-19 patients
- Facility requires annual flu vaccination
Required Qualifications
- License: Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for Maryland
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in MS/Telemetry or related specialty
- Prior travel experience required: Must have completed at least 1 prior travel assignment
- Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Cerner experience preferred
- Must successfully pass the Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam as described above
Skills & Competencies
- Telemetry monitoring and MS (Medical-Surgical) nursing skills
- Ability to interpret EKG rhythms accurately
- Comfortable with diverse patient populations, including gender affirmation surgery patients
- Ability to float to other units of similar or lower acuity
Additional Requirements
- Must have current flu vaccine or approved exemption
- Background check and drug screening required prior to start
- Annual physical exam confirming ability to perform job duties without accommodations
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Up-to-date immunizations including MMR, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Tdap
- N95 fit test within 9 months of start and updated annually
- Completion of facility-specific orientation modules prior to start
Work Environment
- Night shift on a telemetry unit
- Exposure to COVID-19 patients possible
- Scrubs color: Navy Blue (not provided)
References & Documentation
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with telemetry skills who have prior travel contract experience and are comfortable working weekend night shifts in a fast-paced environment.
