Job Opportunity: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Acute Care Hospital
Location: Westwood, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 5 days per week, 8-hour day shifts plus 1 weekend shift per month
- Patient Population: Primarily geriatric patients with diagnoses including post-op ACDF, pneumonia, congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and falls
- Charting System: Epic
- Special Equipment: Modified Barium Swallow (MBS)/Imaging
Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid Speech Language Pathologist license in New Jersey
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
- Speech Language Pathologist experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) certification
- Modified Airway Bypass (MAB) certification
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background checks including 7-year history and education verification
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
- Immunizations and titers required:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
- Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Valid driver’s license or state ID
- Completion of employment application and skills checklist as required
- Work history verification for 7 years (NJ requires minimum 1 year verified with limited gaps)
Additional Notes
- Locals within a 50-mile radius will not be accepted for this travel assignment
- Prior travel experience is preferred but not explicitly required
- Orientation and safety manual acknowledgment required
- Medication/pharmacology competency exams and color blindness testing may be required as applicable
