Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Amarillo, Texas
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day
• Facility Size: 450-bed hospital with approximately 360 census
• Environment:

  • Trauma Level 3 hospital
  • 7 floors providing therapy services
  • Patient populations include orthopedic, neurological, oncology, post-op back and neck, basic medical-surgical, and ICU (medical, cardiac, surgical)
• Team:

  • 8-10 Physical Therapists per day
  • 6-8 Physical Therapist Assistants per day
  • Collaborative work with Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, and Case Management teams
• Travel: Locals within 50 miles are not accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid Physical Therapist license in Texas
• Minimum 1 year of Physical Therapist experience within the last year

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Background checks including 7-year history, education verification, and federal exclusions
• Physical exam within 12 months of start
• Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
• Immunizations and titers:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or vaccination)
  • Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
  • Varicella (positive titer, vaccination, or documented history)
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start; additional onsite drug screen during orientation
• Annual flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season (Oct 1 - Mar 31)
