Description
Registered Nurse - ICU
Location: Westwood, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3x12 hour day shifts
- Minimum 1.5 years of experience required in specialty
- Unit accepts first-time travelers
- Local candidates not accepted (must be willing to travel within a 50-mile radius)
Required Certifications
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license for New Jersey
- Minimum 1.5 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
- ACLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- BLS certification issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Background and Compliance Requirements
- 7-year background check within 1 year of start date, updated annually
- Education verification of highest level completed
- Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 90 days of start
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year of start
- Required immunizations/vaccinations with proper documentation:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years)
- Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella (positive titer or 2 vaccines)
- Hepatitis B (positive titer, series, or declination)
- Varicella (positive titer, 2 vaccines, or documented history)
- Seasonal Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption during flu season
- Physical exam within 12 months of start
- Fit mask test within 1 year of start, renewed annually
Additional Requirements
- Completion of unit-specific skills checklist annually
- Work history verification for the past 7 years (NJ requires at least 1 year verified prior to start with no gaps over 30 days)
- Completion of employment application/resume submission
- Photo for badge identification
Notes
- Prior travel experience is not required; first-time travelers are accepted
- Must be able to comply with all facility-specific onboarding and credentialing processes
- This position requires working day shifts only
This opportunity is suitable for ICU Registered Nurses with at least 1.5 years of critical care experience who are open to travel assignments and meet the listed certification and compliance requirements.
