Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: State College, Pennsylvania
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Position Summary

Assist in delivering quality healthcare by exercising sound nursing judgment according to recognized nursing techniques, procedures, and established standards. Actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in coordinating patient care.

Required Qualifications

• Valid LPN / LVN license in Pennsylvania
• LPN / LVN with at least 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• Basic knowledge of CPT coding guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Practical nursing principles and skills for quality patient care, including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures.
• Understanding of medication effects and patient education principles.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions.
• Familiarity with physician office procedures and medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to remain calm and effective during emergencies.
• Problem identification, prioritization, quick decision-making, and recommending solutions.
• Ability to administer various medications and treatments and use examination and treatment equipment.

Working Conditions

• Fast-paced, high-traffic medical office environment.
• Potential exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids, and other clinic-related conditions.
• May require irregular hours and travel to other office locations.

Physical Demands

• Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients.
• Manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination required.
• May involve sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds.
• Corrected vision and hearing within normal range required.
