Description

Registered Nurse - ICU

Location: Bowling Green, Kentucky
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Unit Information

  • Unit: ICU/CCU
  • Number of Beds: 16
  • Patient Ratios: Typically 2:1, sometimes 3:1
  • Staffing: Unit secretaries and tech availability varies; tech staffed depending on census
  • Equipment Used: Impella, GE monitors, Temporary Pacemakers, EKOS, IABP, Artic Sun, Hemodynamic monitoring
  • Documentation System: Meditech
  • Scheduling: 36 hours weekly
  • Floating Policy: Float in rotation with core staffing
  • Dress Code: Scrubs (any color), no denim, capris, or camo

Required Certifications

  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • NIH Certification
  • Registered Nurse License

Requirements/Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Kentucky
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience, including experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification

Skills and Qualifications

  • Critical thinking

  • Advanced skills including:
    • Central line insertions
    • Dialysis catheter insertions

  • Team-oriented with a mix of day and night shift experience
