Description
Registered Nurse - Med Surg
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Employment Type: Travel
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Specialty: Ortho/Surgery Post-op
- Shift: PM (Shift starts at 18:45)
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours guaranteed
- Weekend Hours: Every other weekend
- Call Requirements: None
- Patient Ratio: 6:1
- Unit Beds: 30
- EMR System: Cerner
- Float Requirements: As needed
Required Certifications
- AHA BLS
- AHA NIH
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alabama
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg experience, including experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS certification
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong time management
- Positive attitude
- Strong work ethic and attendance
- Bedside shift report required
- Preferred experience in Med/Surg, orthopedics, post-op care
- Ability to work in a very fast-paced unit
- Quick thinking, confident, and hardworking personality

- Surgical patients

- Scrub color: Navy
- No long nails, gel nails, wrapped nails, dipped nails, or any fake nails allowed
Additional Notes
- This is a fast-paced surgical unit requiring strong clinical skills and adaptability.
- The position involves working every other weekend with no call responsibilities.
