Description
Job Opportunity: Transplant IMC Registered Nurse (RN) - Days
Location: Baltimore, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 12 weeks
Shift: 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts (07:00 - 19:30)
Job Description
- Provide post-operative care for vascular, kidney, and liver transplant patients.
- Perform hemodynamic and neurovascular assessments.
- Monitor surgical sites for bleeding or infection and evaluate graft function.
- Monitor labs, urine output, fluids, and electrolytes.
- Administer pain control, immunosuppressants, anticoagulation, and IV therapies.
- Identify complications such as thrombosis, graft dysfunction, rejection, or other transplant-related issues.

- Adults to Geriatrics
Unit Details
- Intermediate Care (IMC) unit
- 27 patient rooms
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Holidays: Required as scheduled
- Weekends: Every third weekend required
- Floating: Required within specialty and related units
- On-call: Not required
Required Qualifications and Compliance
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
- Minimum 1 year of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience within the last year
- Transplant experience
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association
- NURSYS Verification (RN, LPN/LVN, AP)
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

- Competency exams and medication/pharmacology tests required as applicable.
- Floating may include other units within the specialty scope.
Prior Travel Experience
- No explicit prior travel experience required for this position.
This position is ideal for experienced RNs with transplant and intermediate care experience seeking a travel contract in Maryland.
