Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work schedule includes day and evening shifts (8 or 12 hours), with shift times such as 07:00-19:30, 07:00-15:30, and 15:00-23:30.
- Every other weekend rotation, holidays, and one on-call shift every 6 weeks.
- Total of approximately 36 hours per week.
- Experience in both pediatric and adult respiratory therapy preferred.
- Must have experience working in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) license in Wisconsin.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a staff respiratory therapist, including experience within the last year.
- Experience working in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size.
Certifications & Competencies
- BLS (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required depending on unit.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certifications may be required based on unit.
- Medication and pharmacology competency exams as applicable.
- Facility-specific telemetry testing and competency exams may be required if applicable.
Compliance & Background Requirements
- Background check within 90 days prior to start, including nationwide and local searches.
- Education verification required for Respiratory Therapist program.
- Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check and BID form required.
- Drug screening per standard clinical requirements.
- Physical exam and immunization documentation required, including:
- TB testing or chest X-ray.
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity.
- Varicella vaccination or immunity.
- Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form.
- Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption.
- Other vaccines or declinations as required by department.
Additional Information
- Pediatric and adult experience preferred.
- Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.
- References: Two clinical references within the last 3 years required.
- Employment application and annual skills checklist required.
- Facility-specific orientation and safety acknowledgments required.
