Job Opportunity: Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Details

• Shift: Evening/Night shifts (8 or 12 hours) with varying start times (1900-0730, 2300-0730, 1500-2330)
• Schedule: Every other weekend rotation, holidays, and one on-call shift every 6-week scheduling period
• Hours: Approximately 36 hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Respiratory Therapist
• Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Certifications & Compliance Requirements

• BLS (AHA) - Basic Life Support
• ACLS (AHA) - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (check unit description for requirement)
• Other certifications such as PALS, NRP may be required depending on unit assignment
• State license primary source verification within 30 days of start and upon expiration
• Background checks including criminal history, education verification, and caregiver screening as required by Wisconsin state regulations
• Drug screening per standard clinical requirements
• Immunizations and health documents including:

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or immunity proof
  • Varicella vaccination or immunity proof
  • Hepatitis B vaccination series or declination form
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
  • Other vaccines or declinations as applicable (e.g., Meningococcal)

Additional Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific competency exams and orientation testing, including telemetry exams if applicable
• Signed acknowledgments for safety manuals and pass/fail testing as required
• Physical exam documentation per agency standards
• Photo for badge issuance (passport-style, no headwear except for religious or medical reasons)
• Wisconsin BID form and caregiver screening must be completed prior to start

Notes

• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required for this position
• Pediatric and adult experience is preferred but not mandatory
• This role requires working in a high-acuity, trauma center environment
• Candidates must be prepared for variable evening/night shifts and on-call responsibilities
