Job Details

• Specialty: Laboratory
• Shift: Monday through Thursday, four 10-hour shifts (8:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Experience Required: Minimum 1 year in the specialty
• Education: Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related field
• Certifications Accepted:

  • ASCP MLT or MLS
  • AMT Certification also accepted
• EMR System: Proficiency with EPIC required (recent experience preferred)
• Travel Experience: Preferred but not required

Job Description

The position involves working in a clinical laboratory providing comprehensive, time-sensitive laboratory services including:

• Chemistry
• Immunochemistry
• Coagulation
• Hematology
• Urinalysis
• Manual Testing
• Rapid Covid and Influenza testing
• Manual Body Fluid and CSF cell counts and differentials
• Transfusion Services
• Central Processing

The laboratory operates 24/7 and provides training for new staff and medical technology students.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Lab Technician with a minimum of 1 year of experience, including experience within the last year
• Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent
• Experience with Epic EMR system

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start
• FBI and BCI fingerprinting required prior to start
• Education accreditation confirmation from recognized accrediting bodies
• Monthly monitoring through workforce screening systems
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending

Health and Immunization Requirements

• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap vaccination (adult dose after age 11/12)
• Negative TB test or chest x-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
• MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with boosters if needed
• Hepatitis B titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
• Varicella vaccination or positive titer (medical exemptions require documentation)
• Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending tests allowed)
• Seasonal flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31) with mask requirement if declined
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• Two professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
• Employment application and skills checklist required
• Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
• Completion of fraud, waste, and abuse training certificate prior to start and annually thereafter
• Annual acknowledgment of ethics and compliance policies
