Description
Registered Nurse - Flex Pool (Days)
Location: Hilo, Hawaii
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Float between various medical and surgical units including Medical, Surgical Acute, and Cardiovascular units.
- Work 12-hour day shifts (06:45 AM to 07:15 PM), scheduled for 36 hours per week after orientation.
- No guaranteed hours.
- Use equipment such as Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vac, and chest tubes.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios vary by unit:
- Medical Unit: 1:6 (days/evenings), 1:8 (nights)
- Surgical Acute Unit: 1:6
- Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4
- Professional nursing attire required (clean scrubs).
- Orientation provided for each unit.
- Must arrive the Thursday before start date for employee health appointment.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Hawaii.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including Medical-Surgical and Stepdown experience.
- At least 1 year of recent Cardiovascular Unit (CVU) experience within the last year.
- BLS and ACLS certifications.
Additional Information
- Orientation and training specific to each unit will be provided.
- Floating to Medical, Surgical Acute, and Cardiovascular units as needed.
