Job Opportunity: Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Location: Easton, Maryland

Shift: Days, 4x10 hour shifts (07:00 - 17:30) with 1 scheduled late shift per week (10:00 - 20:30)
On-Call: Required; must be within 30 minutes of facility during on-call shifts

• On-call shifts: 17:30-07:00 Monday-Friday, 24-hour coverage on weekends/holidays
• Approximately 10-13 call shifts per month
• Weekends and holidays required as scheduled

Job Description

• Work in a cardiac catheterization lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Average daily case volume: 7-14 cases
• Cath lab rooms: 2
• Patient diagnoses include Acute Coronary Syndrome, CHF, STEMI/NSTEMI, AFIB, Bradycardia
• Procedures include Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Pacemaker insertion, Loop monitors, TEE, Cardioversions
• Equipment used: Balloon Pump, IVUS
• Scrub color: Royal blue
• Floating to pre-op/PACU within unit/specialty as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a cardiac Cath Lab, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Additional Requirements

• Must be able to respond within 30 minutes for on-call shifts
• Two supervisory references within 1 year required
• Verification of at least 2 years hospital or equivalent acute care experience in the nursing position within last 5 years
• Background checks including 7-year criminal search, education verification, and state-specific exclusions
• Negative drug screen required (9 or 10 panel depending on facility)
• Physical exam and fit mask test within 1 year of start
• Immunizations and titers required:

  • TDaP (within 10 years or signed declination)
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (seasonal)
  • Negative TB test or chest x-ray within required timeframe
  • Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella titers or vaccinations
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination (series not accepted)
• COVID vaccine not required but documentation collected for tracking
• Completion of facility-specific documents including confidentiality agreement, dress code review, and badge photo

Orientation & Onboarding

• Orientation typically held on Tuesdays at 8:00 AM (location details provided upon hire)
• Dress code: Royal blue scrubs
• CPI training module assigned prior to orientation and must be completed before start
• Medication and EKG competency exams administered at orientation

Summary

This is a travel contract opportunity for an experienced Cath Lab RN with a minimum of 3 years cardiac Cath Lab experience. The role requires day shifts with on-call responsibilities, working in a busy cardiac catheterization environment. Candidates must hold a Maryland RN license and current BLS/ACLS certifications. Prior travel experience is not required.
