Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapist - Pediatrics
Location: Rockville, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Pediatric Occupational Therapist with 2+ years of recent pediatric experience required.
- ASAP start.
- Work schedule: Monday - Thursday, 40 hours guaranteed, no weekends.
- Patient age range: Birth to 21 years.
- Primary diagnoses/conditions treated: Cerebral Palsy (CP), Autism, Genetic/developmental conditions.
- Expected caseload: Approximately 25 billed hours per week (scheduled 29-30 hours to allow for cancellations).
- Evaluation vs. treatment mix: 1-2 evaluations per week.
- Therapy sessions typically 1:1 with occasional co-treats.
- Documentation system: Cerner.
Facility & Team Details
- Therapy team includes one OT, one PT, and one SLP.
- Specialty clinics available: Seating and positioning, Assistive Technology, Feeding Program.
- Support staff: 0.5 Rehab Tech.
- Orientation and training provided.
- Well-equipped therapy environment including sensory gym and feeding tools.
- Dress code: Comfortable; no jeans or open-toed shoes; scrubs commonly worn.
- Parking: Free garage on site.
- No weekend or holiday requirements.
- No floating expectations.
Required Qualifications
- Must have Maryland OT license at submission or be able to obtain it prior to start.
- Must have pediatric experience.
- Certifications required based on specialty/unit (if applicable):
- Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA only, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - AHA only, valid and not expiring within 30 days of start.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - AHA only, if required by unit/specialty.
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - AHA/AAP only, if required by unit/specialty.
- Chemotherapy certification if applicable.
- Background checks and verifications required (including education verification, criminal background, and others).
- Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information.
- Fit mask test (N95 or equivalent) within 1 year of start.
- Immunizations and titers required: Tdap, MMR (measles, mumps, rubella), Varicella, Hepatitis B, TB screening, Flu vaccination or approved exemption.
- Drug screening: 10-panel including marijuana within 30 days of start.
- Completion of facility-specific orientation and competency exams.
- Two professional references dated within the past two years required.
- Employment application and skills checklist required.

- No prior travel experience explicitly required.
- Productivity expectation: 25 billed hours per week.
- Documentation and compliance with facility-specific modules and safety protocols mandatory.
