Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Labor & Delivery unit. This role requires high-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, standards of care, and state laws.
- Document care according to standards.
- Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family education.
- Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, including shared governance.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support the patient’s longitudinal plan of care.
- Apply critical thinking to ensure patient safety and experience, escalating concerns appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery nursing experience, including experience within the last year
- Experience working with high-risk patients in Labor and Delivery
- Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients
- Current ACLS certification
- Current NRP certification
