Job Opportunity: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) - Long Term Care (Days)

Location: Mound City, Missouri

Job Description

• Screen, evaluate, and rehabilitate patients with communication, cognitive, or swallowing disorders.
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care following regulatory and clinical practice standards.
• Utilize standardized assessments and evidence-based practices to support clinical interventions.
• Assess patient progress and adjust treatments accordingly; evaluate treatment outcomes for effectiveness.
• Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and healthcare team members regarding patient progress and treatment plans.
• Document all required clinical and regulatory information accurately in electronic records.
• Participate in patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, and required trainings.
• Obtain necessary durable medical equipment (DME) or supplies as needed.
• Supervise and support Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) or student Speech-Language Pathologists.
• Adhere to ASHA and state-required practice acts, codes of conduct, and ethics.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Speech-Language Pathology experience (New graduates accepted if Level II experience, not just Level I observation).
• Experience in Long Term Care (LTC) or Rehabilitation settings is required.
• Active Missouri State License.
• Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology.
• Preferred: 3 years experience holding active CCS certification.
• Ability to document treatment minutes and maintain productivity standards.
• Ability to perform group therapy sessions.
• Must adhere to professional standards and regulatory requirements.

Additional Information

• Typical treatment times for SLP are approximately 30 minutes per session.
• Caseloads may range from 10-14 patients per day depending on evaluation load.
• Productivity expectations align with industry standards for evaluating therapists.
• Participation in ongoing facility and company trainings and meetings is required.
