Description
Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
Location: Somerville, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
- Patient Ratios: 1:1 to 1:4
- Unit Info: 3 rooms, 8 beds, approximately 7 visits per day
- Charting System: EPIC
- Scrubs: Provided
- Weekend On-Call: 1 full weekend per month (Friday 5 PM – Saturday 6 AM and Saturday 6 AM – Sunday 6 AM)
- On-Call Requirement: 9 days per month total (including 1 weekend and 4 weekdays Monday-Friday 6:30 AM – 5 PM)

Required Experience & Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 2 years acute care experience
- Minimum 2 years Cardiac Cath Lab experience, with experience within the last year
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Background Checks:
- Criminal background check within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
- Health Requirements:
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray as per protocol
- Physical exam within the last 12 months, cleared to perform essential job functions and free of communicable disease
- Drug screen within 30 days of start
- Seasonal influenza vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption (annual requirement)
- Immunizations or proof of immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B, and Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
- Fit Testing: Required on-site prior to or on first day (N-95 respirator fit test and respiratory medical clearance)
- Respiratory Medical Clearance: Mandatory prior to start, must be updated annually
- Color Blind Testing: Required if job tasks involve color discrimination (within 1 year)
- Competency Exams:
- Medication/Pharmacology competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
- IV Therapy/Infusion exam
- Pass/Fail testing for EKG and medication knowledge
- References: Two references within the last 2 years, including at least one managerial reference
- Employment History: Resume or application with 7 years of work history; New Jersey candidates require verification of at least 1 year prior to start with no gaps over 30 days
- Skills Checklist: Must be completed and updated annually
Additional Requirements
- On-Call and Weekend Coverage: Must be willing to fulfill on-call and weekend requirements as specified
- Schedule Accommodations: Any requests must be submitted with application
- Orientation: Completion of annual education sign-off and any required facility-specific orientation materials prior to start
Summary
