Job Opportunity: Acute Care Physical Therapist
Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Schedule: 7 days on, 7 days off; 10-hour shifts
- Weekend Requirement: Yes
- Floating: Yes, position may float between units
- On-call: No
- Patient Load: Approximately 10-12 patients per day
- Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care / Level III Trauma Center
- Total Staffed Beds: 104
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: No fee
Required Experience and Skills
- Acute care physical therapy experience required
- Inpatient rehabilitation (IPR) experience is beneficial
Required Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Other certifications as applicable per clinical track (verify with clinical leadership)
Required Documentation & Compliance
- Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start (no instant tests)
- Immunizations and health screenings including:
- Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (within 10 years or declination)
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months
- MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Varicella vaccination or positive titer
- Seasonal flu vaccine or declination (required during flu season)
- COVID vaccine or declination
- Respirator clearance (RespSafety) required for travel candidates, updated annually
- Background check within 45 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years
- State-specific background and registry checks as required by Washington state law
References and Employment History
- Minimum of 2 supervisor references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
- Employment application covering at least the last 5 years (7 years for advanced practice nurses) with month/year format for dates
Additional Requirements
- Completion of required WorkRamp modules including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules as applicable
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Passport-style badge photo with neutral background
- Float policy acknowledgement (may be required to float to other units/facilities within reasonable distance)
Required Experience and Licenses
- Valid Physical Therapist license in Washington
- Washington State License
