Respiratory Therapist - Contract Position
Location
- Milwaukee, WI
Contract Length
- 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work in a Level III Trauma Center with Level III NICU and Comprehensive Stroke Center capabilities.
- Patient population primarily geriatrics and adults, with some pediatrics in the Emergency Department.
- Patient ratio: 1:1
- Floating required within hospital to all units.
- Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit flow.
- Weekend rotation every other weekend.
- Time off approval up to 7 days.
- On-call requirements vary.
- Block scheduling is not accommodated.
- Adheres to a fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts.
- Scrub color: Any except camo or denim.

Required Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
- CRT (Certified Respiratory Therapist) or RRT (Registered Respiratory Therapist)
Required Skills
- Ventilator management including AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, parapack vents for MRI, Hamilton vents for transport
- CPAP, BiPAP, Nebulizers
- A-line placement
- Intubation, extubation, ventilator weaning
- Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs)
Technology / Equipment
- EPIC electronic charting system
- Pyxis medication system
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience required.
- First-time travelers considered upon review.
Additional Notes
- COVID-19 vaccine required.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Wisconsin
- Minimum 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
