Job Description
Seeking a Certified Surgical Technician (CST) for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) travel assignment. The role involves assisting in complex cardiovascular surgical procedures including:
- Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Valve Replacement (AVR, MVR)
- Impella 5.5 device support
- Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Thoracic surgeries
- Heart Transplants
- Dissections
- Endovascular and Vascular procedures
Unit Information
- Unit Type: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Number of ORs: 5 (3 open, 2 hybrid)
- Staffing: Approximately 15 staff members
- Shift: Day shift primarily; night shift on call
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:1
- Equipment: Standard OR equipment
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with a minimum of 1 year of recent experience
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Completion of annual compliance curriculum or orientation on the code of conduct, refresher on the code of conduct, acknowledgement forms for employee health and safety, training program for employee health and safety, de-escalation skills training in a healthcare setting, general orientation curriculum, assessment or self-assessment for surgical technologist skills, or understanding hazardous drug risk
- Experience with Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG)
- Experience with valve replacement procedures
- Experience with Impella 5.5 device support
- Experience with Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR)
- Experience with thoracic surgeries
- Experience with heart transplant procedures
- Experience with dissections
- Experience with endovascular procedures
- Experience with vascular procedures
Preferred Qualifications
- CNOR certification (for nurses)
- RN license (for nurses)
