Surgical Tech Travel Opportunity

Location: Boston, Massachusetts
Contract Length: 8 weeks


Job Description

A Level 1 Trauma Facility near Boston, MA is seeking experienced travel Operating Room (OR) Surgical Technologists. This is a very busy academic facility with 23 OR rooms and 50-70 cases per day, including ortho, neuro, general surgery, and trauma cases. Experience with eyes/ENT cases is a bonus.

Travel experience is preferred. Candidates must have prior Level 1 trauma center experience.


Schedule & Call Expectations

  • 12-hour weekend shifts in rotation with other staff
  • 8-hour weekday shifts in rotation may be required
  • Call and weekend rotation required (approximately once a month)
  • Perioperative call expectations require travelers to take the same amount of call as permanent staff
  • Call shifts start at the end of your scheduled shift (3:30 PM or 5:30 PM)
  • Neuro/Ortho staff: 3 weekday shifts per month (evenings or nights) plus weekend shifts (1-2 per month, rotating)

Required Qualifications

  • Surgical Technologist with 2 years of experience
  • Surgical Technologist experience within the last year
  • Current BLS certification
  • Certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST), NBSTSA, or NCCT
  • Completion of a military surgical technology program is also acceptable
  • Experience working with Level 1 Trauma patients

  • Call and weekend rotation required
  • Housing leads may be available; candidates should explore local housing options
  • Must be prepared for a fast-paced, high-volume trauma center environment
