Job Opportunity: Interventional Radiology RN
Location: Rockford, Illinois
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (RN) for a day shift position with an on-call rotation covering weeknights, weekends, and holidays. The role involves working in an Interventional Radiology setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to care for patients.
- Perform patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations of care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques, policies, and state laws.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation according to established standards.
- Develop and execute individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy.
- Provide patient and family education tailored to their level of understanding.
- Participate in department/unit performance improvement and shared governance activities.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units/departments to support patient care continuity.
- Manage complex patient safety situations and delegate tasks appropriately, escalating issues as needed.
- Engage in professional development and support continuous learning opportunities, including evidence-based practice guideline development.
- Participate in peer review and feedback processes.
- For clinic and ambulatory settings, maintain patient flow and perform telephone triage as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois.
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
- Minimum of 1 year of Interventional Radiology experience within the last year.
- Minimum of 1 year of critical care nursing experience.
- Current certifications in:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
