Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - Endoscopy

Location: Burlington, North Carolina
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 26 weeks

Work Schedule

• 4x10 hour shifts, Days (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
• Monday to Friday, occasional weekends
• Call required:

  • Weekend call approximately every 6-7 weekends (48 hours from 7 AM Saturday to 7 AM Monday)
  • Weeknight call about 1 night every 2 weeks (5 PM - 7 AM)
  • Holiday call coverage may be required (24 hours)
• Floating required to other Endoscopy Centers within the system

Job Description

• Provide nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic procedures including:

  • Screening and therapeutic colonoscopy
  • Upper endoscopy with BRAVO monitoring
  • Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
  • Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS)
  • Capsule Endoscopy
• Experience with portable/bedside travel cases, pre/post procedure, and inpatient care required
• Use of EPIC electronic health record system required

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in North Carolina
• Minimum of 1 year of endoscopy nursing experience, with experience within the last year
• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
• Experience with EPIC electronic health record system

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

• Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
• Social Security Card
• Background check within 60 days covering all locations lived/worked/schooled in past 7 years
• Education verification and transcript/diploma as applicable
• Physical exam (if applicable)
• Immunizations and health screenings including:

  • Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap
  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray
  • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) or positive titers
  • Hepatitis B titer or declination
  • Varicella vaccination or positive titer
  • Seasonal flu vaccination or approved exemption
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug test within 40 days of start
• Fit mask test (N95) completed within current calendar year and updated annually
• Facility-specific forms including health history, floating policy, contractor equipment acknowledgement, and dress code review
• EPIC test with passing score required prior to start (2 attempts allowed)
• Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
• References: 2 supervisory references required from recent assignments (within 12 and 24 months)
• Employment application/resume with 7-year work history
• Work history verification for last 5 years

Additional Notes

• Strict zero-tolerance policy for tardiness and unexcused absences
• Floating to other endoscopy centers is mandatory
• Call shifts are in addition to scheduled hours and require flexibility
• Candidate must be flexible with scheduling and able to complete all compliance requirements by deadlines
• Badge photo must meet strict facility standards (no selfies, solid color background, business casual or uniform attire)

This position is ideal for experienced RNs with endoscopy expertise who are comfortable with call responsibilities, floating, and working in a fast-paced procedural environment.
