Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Job Details

• Weekend shifts required
• Schedule: 3 shifts per weekend, 12 hours each (night shift)
• Floating between campuses may be required
• Patient ratio: Not applicable
• Equipment used: GE Ventilators

Required Qualifications

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in Ohio
• Minimum of 1 year of Respiratory Therapist experience within the last year

Certifications

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) – AHA provider or instructor acceptable
• BLS (Basic Life Support) – AHA provider or instructor acceptable
• Other certifications may be required depending on unit assignment

Background and Compliance Requirements

• 7-year criminal background check within 90 days of start, including FBI and BCI fingerprinting (Ohio-specific codes apply)
• Monthly EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG monitoring
• Education accreditation verification required immediately after contract signing
• Transcript/Diploma verification required (official documents only)
• Pending background check attestation required if fingerprint results are pending
• Drug screening: Negative 10-panel drug screen within 3 months of start (no pending drug screens allowed)
• Physical exam within 1 year of start confirming good health and free of contagious disease
• Various health immunizations and screenings required (see Health Documents below)

Health Documents Required

• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap (adult dose after age 11/12)
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year
• TB questionnaire in lieu of annual TB test renewal
• Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 MMR vaccines or positive titer; boosters if low titer
• Hepatitis B: Titer or 3-vaccine series (declination acceptable)
• Varicella: 2 vaccines or positive titer; medical exemption requires documentation
• Seasonal Flu vaccination or declination during flu season (10/1 - 3/31)
• COVID-19 vaccination not required but strongly recommended

Additional Requirements

• 2 professional references required; at least one must be from a manager or formal leadership
• Employment application required
• Skills checklist required
• Compliance with dress code and hand hygiene policies
• Annual acknowledgment of orientation safety manual, ethics, and compliance policies
• Unit-specific competency exams may be required
• Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam required annually for RNs (not applicable for RRT)

Notes

• Parking permits are available for agency staff (costs and options subject to change)
• Fingerprinting must be completed using specific Ohio codes and within 1 year of start; new fingerprinting required if break in service exceeds 90 days
• Background check and fingerprinting results with hits require additional documentation and adjudication
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific policies and training requirements

This position is ideal for experienced Registered Respiratory Therapists seeking a travel contract with weekend night shifts and the flexibility to float between campuses. Prior travel experience is preferred but not mandatory.
