Description
Job Opportunity: Registered Nurse - CVOR
Location: Newark, New Jersey
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Primary Unit: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)
- Float to Main OR for primarily Orthopedic and General surgery cases
- Scrub and circulate during surgeries required
- Must have some transplant experience (cardiac, lung, and/or kidney highly preferred)
- Required case experience includes:
- Valve replacement
- Coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
- Transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR)
- Dissection
- Video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS)
- Standard cardiac surgeries (CABG, AVR, MVR)
- TCAR, TEVAR, VADs
- Strong experience in general and orthopedic surgeries in the main OR
- Must have endovascular and vascular experience, including:
- Endovascular AAA
- Carotid endarterectomy
- Arteriogram, angiogram
- Transcarotid artery revascularization (TCAR)
- AV fistula
- Femoral-popliteal bypass
- On-call requirements:
- 24-hour on-call on Saturdays or Sundays (one weekend per month)
- 8-hour on-call shift on two weekdays (either 3-11 pm or 11 am-7 pm)
- Charting system used: EPIC/OR Manager (PICIS)
- First-time travelers accepted
- Scrubs provided
- Block/special scheduling requires prior approval
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- CVOR experience of at least 2.5 years
- CVOR experience within the last year
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Some degree of transplant experience (cardiac, lung, and/or kidney)
- Experience with Epic electronic health record system
