Job Opportunity: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel/Contract

Job Details
- Employment Type: Travel/Contract
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Night shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (18:00 - 6:30)
- Hours per week: 36
- Facility Type: Critical Access Hospital
- Total Beds: 23
- Patient Ratio: 1:3
- Charting System: Epic
- Parking: No fee
- Scrub Color: Any color allowed for RN/Allied staff
- Floating: May float between units and possibly to another facility 25 minutes away
- On-call: Not required
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- Block Schedules: Required
- 48-hour approval: Not approved
Required Qualifications
- Valid Respiratory Care Practitioner license in Washington
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner within the last year
- Prior travel experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner
Required Documentation
- Government-issued photo ID (Driver’s License or State ID)
- Social Security Card (for Washington state OBRA search if applicable)
- I-9 form attestation
- E-Verify attestation
- Background check within 90 days of start covering all locations lived/worked in past 7 years; must be updated annually
- Education verification (degree/diploma/transcript as applicable)
- Employment application covering at least last 5 years (7 years for advanced practice nurses/subcontractors)
- Minimum of 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment in a comparable specialty/setting within last 3 years
- Skills checklist updated annually (if applicable)
- WA State Patrol Search (WATCH) within 90 days of start, updated every 2 years for certain facility types
- OBRA Registry Search for CNAs (not applicable for RRT)
- Photo for badge (passport style with neutral background)
Training and Competency Requirements
- Completion of facility-specific and regional mandatory modules via WorkRamp LMS, including:
- Annual regulatory requirements
- Specialty-specific modules for travel caregivers
- Basics of Trauma Informed Care (required at this facility)
- Epic training modules (if applicable)
- Medication competency exams as applicable
- Color blindness testing if required by unit
Additional Notes
- Floating policy acknowledgment required due to possible assignment at multiple facilities within reasonable distance
- No on-call duties required
- Weekend work every other weekend is mandatory
- 48-hour shift approval is not granted
- Physical exam and immunizations must be current and compliant with facility and state requirements
- Respiratory safety and fit testing are mandatory for respirator use
- Drug screen must be negative; marijuana may be accepted depending on state regulations and agency policy
This position is ideal for a licensed Registered Respiratory Therapist with prior travel experience who is comfortable working night shifts in a critical access hospital setting with a 1:3 patient ratio and flexible floating assignments.
