Physical Therapist (PT) - Temp Position
Location: Alpena, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Shift: Days
Hours per Day: 10
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Delegate responsibilities to Physical Therapist Assistants and Aides.
- Perform patient-focused activities including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation following physical therapy standards, physician orders, and policies.
- Evaluate patient function using formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, and cardiovascular status.
- Develop goal-specific treatment plans based on assessment data and patient tolerance.
- Submit written treatment plans as part of the authorized plan of care; update plans as patient status changes.
- Coordinate treatment schedules with patients, families, caregivers, and clinical support staff.
- Educate patients and caregivers on pathology, prognosis, treatment rationale, and alternatives including rest, exercise, and modalities.
Required Qualifications
- Active Michigan Physical Therapist (PT) license.
- Pediatric experience (required).
- Physical therapy experience (required).
- Acute care experience (highly preferred).
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
- Work history and skills checklist relevant to Physical Therapy, current within 1 year.
- Two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
