Description
Registered Nurse - MS/Telemetry
Location: Washington, District of Columbia
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Details
- Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours each (Day: 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM / Night: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: 1:5
- Unit Type: Medical-Surgical / Telemetry
- Float Requirement: Must float within units of equivalent or lower acuity
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend, 6 weekend shifts total
Required Skills
- Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing
- Cardiac telemetry and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Feeding tube care and management
- IV therapy including PICC line and peripheral line management, IV starts
- Must pass Relias EKG Rhythm Interpretation Exam with:
- Minimum overall score of 80%
- 100% score on lethal rhythms section
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
- Minimum 1 year of Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing experience within the last year
- Proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation
- Skilled in IV therapy, including PICC line and peripheral line management
Additional Requirements
- Two positive supervisory references supporting at least 2 years of experience within the last 3 years
- Complete 7 years of work history with no gaps, including education and license information
- Completion of facility-specific modules (SITELS) prior to start date
- Annual competency exams including medication/pharmacology and dysrhythmia/EKG competency
- Must provide clear photo for badge
- Must be available for holiday coverage
- Must comply with facility policies including parking fees

This position requires a highly skilled RN with telemetry experience, strong cardiac monitoring skills, and the ability to float across similar acuity units. Prior travel nursing experience and passing a specialized EKG exam are mandatory.
