Description

Job Opportunity: CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Largo, Maryland
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Day shift, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours each (7:30 AM – 8:00 PM)
Patient Population: Adults to Geriatrics
Unit Details:

8-bed CVICU unit
Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2
Immediate post-op care for cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve surgeries, STEMI, NSTEMI, AFIB with RVR, cardiogenic shock, peripheral bypasses, EVAR, VATS)
Ventilator management in collaboration with respiratory therapy
Use of advanced equipment: Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, Impella, femoral/radial artery management (fem stop, TR bands)
1:1 nursing for first 12 hours post-op; agency nurses may float to Intermediate Care (IMC) with a 1:3 ratio
Navy scrub color preferred

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Maryland
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)
Minimum 2 years of CVICU experience, with CVICU experience within the last year required
