Description

Job Opportunity: ER Registered Nurse (Travel/Contract)

Location: Walla Walla, Washington
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Facility Overview

  • Type: Short Term Acute Care / Level III Trauma Center
  • Total Staffed Beds: 104
  • Charting System: Epic
  • Parking: No fee
  • Scrub Color: Any color allowed on all units

Position Details

  • Shift: Day (3 shifts per week, 12 hours each; 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM)
  • Hours per week: 36
  • Patient Ratio: 1:5
  • Rotating weekends required
  • Block schedules required
  • No floating between units
  • No on-call required
  • 48-hour shifts not approved

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington state
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the Emergency Department (ED), with ED experience within the last year
  • Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN)

Health and Safety Requirements

  • Physical exam within 1 year of start, signed by MD, NP, PA, or DO
  • Fit mask testing required for travel candidates (updated annually) except Medical Lab Technicians
  • Immunizations and documentation required:
    • TDAP (within 10 years or declination accepted)
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 12 months, updated annually
    • MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
    • Hepatitis B vaccination series or signed declination
    • Varicella vaccination or positive titer with acceptable alternatives
    • Seasonal flu vaccine during flu season or declination on file
    • COVID vaccination record preferred (declinations not required)
  • Drug screening: 9-panel drug screen within 12 months; instant tests acceptable with attestation
  • Respiratory safety clearance required annually for travel candidates

Competency and Training Requirements

  • Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam as applicable
  • Unit-specific competency exams and skills checklists updated annually
  • Color blindness testing if required by unit
  • Epic training modules required; candidates must claim Epic account ASAP and complete assigned modules
  • WorkRamp LMS modules:
    • Annual regulatory requirements for all caregivers
    • Specialty-specific modules for ER, L&D, leadership roles, hospice/home health, and assisted living
    • Regional and facility-specific modules as applicable
    • Trauma-informed care modules required at this facility
  • Floating policy acknowledgment required (may be required to float to nearby facilities)
