Description
Registered Nurse (Contract)
Location: Newark, Delaware
Employment Type: Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: Days (Monday - Friday, Normal Business Hours)
Hours per Week: 40
Job Summary
Provide consultative nursing services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities to promote their best possible health. Assist with daily health-related tasks, advocate for routine and preventative healthcare, and collaborate with healthcare providers and support teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and review healthcare records to monitor health issues and document thoroughly.
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with individuals, caregivers, families, and support networks.
- Oversee medication administration processes, documentation, and error reporting.
- Prepare reports on individuals’ health status.
- Provide nursing support and consultation in compliance with the Nurse Practice Act and physician orders.
- Educate unlicensed workforce and individuals served on health-related topics such as medication administration and infection control.
- Conduct ongoing nursing assessments, planning, and monitoring to promote optimal health.
- Ensure individuals receive routine and preventative health services tailored to gender, age, and health conditions.
- Advocate for essential health services through open communication with external healthcare providers.
- Coordinate training and support for delegated nursing tasks.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Delaware.
- Associate of Science in Nursing or Associate Degree in Nursing.
- Minimum of 1 year of rehabilitation nursing experience within the last year.
- Current First Aid certification.
