Job Opportunity: Blood Bank Technologist

• Long-Term Assignment (approximately 13 weeks)

Work Schedule

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM (Day shift)
• 8-hour shifts
• Weekend and holiday rotations required

Unit Description

• Generalist Laboratory Technologist role covering all areas of the lab, with a focus on Blood Bank
• Patient population includes inpatient and outreach services
• Facility bed count: 200

Requirements/Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), including experience within the last year
• Certification as a Medical Technologist or Medical Laboratory Technician from ASCP, NCA, AMT, or HEW
• Primary source verification of professional license/certification required within 30 days of start date
• Massachusetts conditional licenses are not accepted

Required Health and Background Documentation (must be current and updated as specified)

• Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR) vaccination or proof of immunity
• Tuberculosis (TB) test within 3 months of start date (skin test or blood test), updated if break >6 months
• Physician health statement within 1 year of start date, updated if break >6 months
• Criminal background check within 45 days prior to start date, including county and international residence history for last 7 years
• Massachusetts CORI background check within 30 days prior to start date
• National sex offender registry check within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually
• Exclusion checks against OIG, GSA, MassHealth, and NH Medicaid lists within 30 days prior to start date, updated annually
• Social Security Number trace as part of background check
• Education verification of highest level achieved

Additional Preferred Health Requirements

• Hepatitis B vaccination or proof of immunity (strongly preferred)
• Tdap vaccination within last 10 years (preferred)
• If positive TB test, documentation of negative chest X-ray required

Submission Requirements

• Resume including past 7 years of work experience with city and state for each position
• Two professional references within last 4 years (minimum one supervisor or higher)
• Skills checklist completed within 1 year of submission
