Description
Certified Surgical Tech (CST) - Operating Room (Days)
Location: Sault St. Marie, Michigan
Employment Type: Temporary
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Summary
- Perform as a surgical technologist in the Operating Room.
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical procedures and problem-solving related to the procedure.
- Ensure all supplies and equipment are available, assembled correctly, and in working condition.
- Confirm and assemble sterile instruments for use.
- Anticipate surgeon’s needs during procedures.
- Maintain and monitor the sterile field, recognizing breaks in technique.
- Keep accurate accounts of medications, sharps, instruments, and sponges.
Responsibilities
- Verify items on the physician preference card and manage supplies for accurate patient billing.
- Properly use, assemble, clean, and sterilize equipment and disposables.
- Set up sterile field with instruments in a timely manner.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Surgical technologist experience within the last year.
- Active NBSTSA Certification.
- Current BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior travel experience as a surgical technologist is preferred but not required.
