Cath Lab Registered Nurse Travel/Contract Position

Location: Stuart, Florida
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks


Job Details

  • Specialty: Registered Nurse - Cath Lab
  • Shift: Day shift, 4 days per week, 10 hours per day (7:00 AM - 5:30 PM)
  • Hours per week: 40
  • Facility Type: Short Term Acute Care, Teaching hospital
  • Charting system: EPIC
  • Parking: Free in unrestricted spaces
  • Scrub color: Ceil Blue
  • On-call required: Yes
  • Floating: Required to float within scope to three nearby hospitals (within 20 miles)
  • Block schedule: Not accommodated
  • Locals accepted at same rate
  • Pending license not accepted
  • Guaranteed hours: 40 hours for 8/10 shifts
  • Smoke-free facility: All travelers must be nicotine-free (negative 10 panel drug screen + nicotine test required)

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Florida
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab nursing experience, with experience within the last year
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Compliance and Documentation Requirements

  • Proof of I9 or attestation
  • Government-issued photo ID carried during hours of service
  • E-Verify proof or attestation
  • Background checks:
    • 7-year criminal history check within 1 year of start, updated annually
    • EPLS/GSA/SAM and HHS/OIG checks within 30 days of start and updated for renewals
  • Florida AHCA Level II fingerprint clearance required prior to start (Livescan electronic fingerprinting accepted nationwide)
  • Drug screen: Negative 10 panel within 1 year of start (no Florida Medical Marijuana card accepted)
  • Physical exam within 6 months of start
  • Immunizations and titers required:
    • Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella: 2 vaccines or positive titer (exempt if born before 1957)
    • Hepatitis B: Titer, vaccine series, or declination
    • Varicella: 2 vaccines, titer, or history of chickenpox
    • Negative TB test or chest X-ray within 1 year, updated annually; TB questionnaire for past positives
  • Seasonal influenza vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31); medical/religious exemptions allowed with approved documentation
  • COVID-19 vaccination series or approved medical/religious exemption required
  • Two professional references within 2 years of start (required for travel nurses)
  • Employment application and skills checklist (updated annually) required
  • Pass/Fail testing (EKG/Medication) administered during orientation; must pass to continue
  • Completion of online training modules prior to start (time-sensitive, must be prioritized)
  • Acknowledgement of safety manual, HIPAA, and pass/fail testing required

Additional Notes

  • Time-sensitive online modules must be completed by due date; cannot be done on phone and must be completed in Google Chrome
  • Candidates must watch training videos fully before testing or risk being locked out
  • Facility issues radiation badges to applicable candidates
  • Candidates must be nicotine-free with negative drug and nicotine screening
  • All requested time off must be disclosed upfront; late requests likely denied
