Special Procedures Tech - Radiology

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Unit Overview

• Unit: Angiography / Interventional Radiology (IR) Labs
• Beds: 3 Angiography Labs (2 Dedicated IR Labs, 1 Hybrid OR)
• Patient Ratio: 1:1
• Staffing: Teams typically include Lead Tech, RN, ARRT/RTR, RCIS (3-4 person teams; ideal staffing is 2 Techs and 2 RNs)
• Equipment: IVUS, Shockwave, Angio Jet, Jet Stream
• Documentation System: EPIC Cupid
• Scheduling: 4 shifts per week, 10 hours each, with on-call requirements
• Patient Population: High acuity, including ICU and ER patients
• Procedures Performed: Permcath, Port Placement, Thrombectomy, Atherectomy, TVAR, TIPS, EVAR, PE interventions, Stroke, Trauma care

Required Qualifications

• Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 2 years of experience, including experience within the last year
• ARRT Certification
• ACLS and BLS certification
• ICU and ER experience
• Critical care drip (gtt) management

• The unit is part of a Level 1 Trauma Center and a Certified Stroke Center
• High acuity patient population requiring advanced skills in interventional radiology procedures

  • Techs wear navy blue and black uniforms
